Brett & Kristin Albers
Fleet Feet Sports Mishawaka is locally operated by Brett & Kristin Albers.
Brett was born in Manassas, VA and grew up in Hickory, NC. He graduated from the University of North Carolina Asheville in 2008. During High School Brett competed on the Cross Country and Track teams. During and after college Brett embraced the recreational side of running, increasing his distance and competing in a variety of different races. His favorite type of event to complete are distance relays and half marathons. Brett grew up with a father and uncle in the shoe industry and knew from an early age that he wanted to pursue a career helping people reach their fitness goals.
Before moving to Mishawaka, Brett worked for over four years at Fleet Feet's Flagship stores in Carrboro and Durham, NC. He began his career with the intention of one day owning and operating his own Fleet Feet Sports store. Brett is very excited to call Mishawaka and the Michiana region home and is excited to build on the tremendous success Metro Run & Walk has experienced.
Kristin was born in Marshalltown, IA and lived in South Bend briefly before her family relocated to Charlotte, NC. She is ecstatic to return to the area. Kristin attended the Unviersity of North Carolina Chapel Hill, graduating in 2011. Kristin became a runner after meeting Brett and trying the No Boundaries Beginner 5k program, and has found her niche as a Crossfit enthusiast. Before embarking on her Fleet Feet Sports journey, Kristin taught 7th grade language arts. Her favorite thing about working at Fleet Feet Sports is helping new walkers and runners get inspired to keep moving towards accomplishing their fitness goals.
Brett and Kristin welcomed a daughter, Bernadette, to their family in March of 2016. Bernadette can be seen cheering people on at local Fleet Feet Sports sponsored races, hanging out at the store, and going for a walk/jog in the stroller.
